PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
COMMUNION SERVICE
The communion service which is always associated with the initial stages of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand was held in St. John's Church this morning. It was attended by the members of the Assembly, and the delegates to the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union, who are also meeting in Wellington, together with a number of visitors.
The service was conducted by the Moderator, the Rev. H. H. Barton, M.A., and the communion address was given by the Rev. G. W. T. Hercus, of Kaiapoi. The actual carrying out of the service was in the hands of Assembly elders.
Memorial minutes relating to the deaths of the Rev. Edward Bandy, minister of Papanui parish; the Rev. James Gibb, D.D. for almost fifty years a minister of the Church; the Rev. Sydney Ellis Hill, Ellerslie: the Rev. William Mawson, M.A., Chinese mission field; the Rev. E. O. Perry; Mr. Francis Henry Taylor, missionary at Stewart Island; Mr. J. W. Ryburn, and the Rev. E. J. Tipler, 8.A., were adopted.
