WORLD PEACE THREATENED.
Mr. Gerald Griffin said that Italy's armed aggression was a danger to The peace of the world. The longer the conflict went on without interference from the rest of the world, the nearer were other countries to a world-^var Abyssinia was entitled to collective support as a member of the League. Admittedly the League had imperfections, but it was machinery which it' set in motion possibly would prevent a world war. If sanctions were no( applied, was it not more likely that war would take place? Decisive steps already had been taken and he believed that the earnest desire for peace, given the necessary pressure, would result in the strong application of the Covenant of the League. The speakers were accorded a vote of thanks.
