MR. APPLETON MEETS

LADIES

A well-attended meeting of ladies interested in the return to Parliament of Mr. Will Appleton, the Independent candidate for Otaki, was held at the residence of Mrs. J. N. Wallace, "Minnehaha," Khandallah, yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Wallace briefly introduced the speaker, who dealt with several matters of particular interest to womenfolk.

Mrs. John Bevan moved a vote of confidence in Mr. Appleton. This was seconded by Mrs. W. J. Arcus and carried with enthusiasm.
