The National Club , lounge was crowded last night by friends and supporters of Mr.' C. A. L. Treadwell, Government candidate for the Wellington North seat at the General Election. • ..
Mr. C. H. Weston, K.C., presided, and in his introductory remarks referred to his association with Mr. Treadwell in wartime, and said that if the latter put up as good a fight in the coming election the result should not be in doubt.
Committees were formed to deal with the various activities in the campaign.
Mr. Treadwell gave an outline of the work required to win the seat, and was supported by Mr. O. C. Mazengarb in an appeal to city electors to respond to the opportunity offered of returning to Parliament representatives of city interests.
