UNIVERSITY RUGBY

PROSPECT OF JAPAN

A SUGGESTED TOUR

(By Telegraph.—-Press. Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

The prospect of a tour of Japan by a New Zealand University Rugby side is made probable by the receipt of advice by Dr. Hight, Rector of Canterbury College, that the Japanese authorities would welcome such a visit.

Dr. Hight has received a cablegram from Mr. Kawasa, recently a student at Canterbury Agricultural College, stating that a visit would be welcome and the side should be the strongest available. He would do all he could to further the arrangements.

The proposal has been in the minds of students in New Zealand since the Australian Universities' -team toured Japan and found that the Japanese played an excellent game and were hard opponents to defeat. As yet no definite arrangement has been made.
