PETONE-HUTT GAS BOARD
The meeting of the Petone arid Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board last evening was presided over by Mr. W. G. Lodder. '-.„,-. , The works manager (Mr. C. Shaw) reported that during June the gas manufactured was 9,763,000 cubic feet, which was an increase of 20,000 cubic feet over June, 1934, and a decrease of 364,000 cubic feet as compared with May of this year. The average make per ton was 15,516 cubic feet, and the average calorific value 464 British thermal units. .. ■* , The secretary and distribution officer (Mr. O. Silbery), in his. report for June, said that 25 new services, 12 new cookers, 2 builders' cookers, 2 coppers, 8 gas fires, arid 25 new meters were installed. The number of cookers renewed was 11. • ■ When the report of the.accounts and tenders committee came up for consideration Mr. J. (Summing said that the committee was not needed, as the officers were quite capable of dealing with the accounts. . ■ "I do not agree with that at all," said Mr. R. M. Russell. ' Mr. WE.
