Y.W.C.A. "Everygirl Day" Appeal. An explanation of the needs of the Y.W.C.A. and the purpose of the forthcoming Street Day was given by Miss Leila Bridgman and Miss Jean Stevenson at a meeting held recently at Mrs. T. E. Corkiil's home, Oriental Bay. As a result, twelve ladies formed themselves into a committee with Mesdames McVicar and Byrd as conveners. They decided to hold a music'ale on Tuesday, July 16, at the home of Mrs. Lewis, .hoping thereby to add-the sum of £10 to the street day appeal. ; The Wadestown ladies, under the leadership of Mrs. David Smith, Mrs. Maze'ngarb, Mrs. Townley, and Mrs: J. A. Doctor, are planning a similar function for Friday, July 19, at the home of Mrs. J. A. Doctor. This week Miss Myra Sawyer is to give a song recital at Mrs. W. A. Armour's home, in aid of the same good cause. Business and Tea. A party of ladies met at Glenferrie, Willis Street,, to discuss their section of the work in connection with the forthcoming- Red: Cross Oriental ball.. At the close of the meeting MrsJ Leslie Angus and Mrs. Sol. Myers dispensed afternoon tea/ Those present were: Mesdames Denniston-Woods, Morgan, Bunny, Brandon, Mitchell, McGregorCrow, Baine, Myers, Angus, and. Misses Hughes .and Bunny. Captain Galloway, also present, thanked Mrs. Ashton Bennett for assistance given. The MasQtueradeis. A three-act play by J. B. Priestley was read at the meeting of the Mas-' queraders " Club,' held in Charming Hall last night. . -The., play, entitled "Laburnum Grpve," was capably presented ! and warmly, applauded. At the conclusion of the'-reading a light.supper was served. Among .those- present were Mrs. D. M. Robertson, Mrs. Rawston, Misses M. Blathwayt, D. Levy, B. Salmon, W. Aitken, D. Robins, I. Norris, M. Barraclough,\L. Tattersall, E. Robins, M. Frame, L. Levestam, A. Clarkson, L. Garrett, P. Stafford, and Messrs. M. Kennedy, G. Fraser, H. Wilkinson, E. T. Sutch, J. Harvey, H. Warner, and E. B. Porter. At the next reading three one-act plays interspersed with items will be presented.
