PETROL FROM PEAT
, GERMAN DISCOVERY LONDON, July 6. The Berlin correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says that petrol from peat is the latest discovery of German chemists who are striving to make the country independent of foreign supplies. The claim is definitely proved that a gallon of petrol can be produced from | 141b of peat, though they admit that a [ car's performance with it is 20 per cent, lower than with mineral petrol.'
