PLUNKET SOCIETY
LOWER HUTT BRANCH
ANNUAL REPORT
The thirteenth annual report of the Lower Hutt branch of the Plunket Society gives evidence of a very successful year. The finances have been well maintained, and the balance-sheet shows a credit balance of £129 6s 9d on the year's work. This good result was largely contributed to by a "baby carnival," by which £149 2s 5d was raised. A children's fancy dress party brought in £11 10s Bd, and a garden party at the grounds of Dr. Marchant £77 17s 9d.
The- Taita sub-committee contributed £16 to the nurses' salaries, and the Waiwhetu branch £40.
During the year the nurses paid 1888 visits to homes and there were 16,658 visits paid to the society's rooms.
