NGAIO PLUNKET BALU

The annual ball oi the Ngaio Plunket Society took place recently, again proving a great success. The ball was decorated in keeping with the recent Jubilee spirit, bunting and greenery predominating. The. stage looked most attractive with small Union Jacks, flowers, and greenery. Each person who attended was presented with a small silk Union Jack as a souvenir. The committee \ comprised:—Mrs. Walsham, secretary and treasurer (flame marocain crepe), Mrs. Jorram (tomato sand crepe), Mrs. Vaughan (apricot satin), Mrs. Guy (black georgette and lace), Mrs. Scadden (scarlet velvet), Mrs. Lance Hills (black lace). 'Mrs. Littlejohn (wine satin), Mrs. Warring (orchid angel skin lace and georgette), Mrs. Newton (midnight blue marocain crepe), Mrs. Manttan (black lace). Among those present were:—Mr. and Mrs. McNab, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. P. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick, Mr. and Mrs. Farquharson, Mr. and Mrs. Franks, Mr. and Mrs. Oxenham, Mr. and Mrs. E. Watts, Mr. and Mrs. H. Watts, Mr, and Mrs. Barrett, Mr. and Mrs. Annand-Smith, Mrs. ITichols, Mrs. R. B. Gibbons, Mrs. T. G. Gray, Mrs. Scrimgeour, Mrs. E. Hicks, Mr. and Mrs. W. Hicks, Mr. and Mrs. Cheverall, Nurse Paynter, Mrs. Marshall, Miss Hills, Miss Jennings, Miss P. Smith, Miss Alexander, Messrs. Jorram, Lea, L. Hills, Walsham, Manttan, Vaughan, Warring, Littlejohn, Greig, and many others. Mr..Scadden acted as M.C. Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., regretted being unable to be present but sent his best wishes for the success of the ball. •
