INTER-CLUB RACING

REPRESENTATIVE PROSPECTS

The first inter-club race of the season, the Dome Cup race, which is to be run on June 22, is attracting more than usual interest, as the form | shown in this race will give some indication of prospects for the provincial event three weeks later. For the first six places in' the local representative team there are many aspirants. : The Dome Gup race should see the number reduced to.not more than twelve: possibilities, who will have three weeks to reach top form. J The Presbyterian harriers were to hold their annual inter-clas^ contest, for the Martin Shield this afternoon. The holders, St. Giles' (Kilbirhie) appeared to be again favoured, although St. John's, were expected to improve j on last, year's running. St. James's have been weakened, but, they hadj some young members who could pull! the team through under capable leadership. METHODIST HARRIERS. The present season marks a new era in the development of the Methodist Harrier Club/ Although the; club is in only its second season as an affiliated club; it is :now one of the strongest numerically, having approximately 50 members. The club has also. definitely improved, its racing standard,, and the officials confidently expect that in a few. season.it will be well to the fore in inter-club racing. Among the new members, D. Walker, G. Thompson, and L. Ingram are showing consistent form, the' first-named'- having already proved himself equal to the best. J. Kuchen is also running, well and registered .& well-deserved win in the novice race. vAtnorig other .members of outstanding ability are E. Patterson, whose keenness should bring.him to the fore, D. Tucker, R.. Ingram, ■C. Thompson, arid J. McCormack, all of whom ar.e on the improve and are ex- j pected to bring the club into a prominent position in inter-club events this season.
