FAIRHALL AS REFEREE
Mr. Jack Kilmartin was invited to referee the Buckley-Leckie bout at Oamaru, but was unable to do so, and the services of Tommy Fairhall, the former famous Australian welterweight, were requisitioned. Fairhall made ,a great fist of the job, and his services might well be utilised in various parts of the South Island, where good third men are at a premium. Fairhall had a turn as a promoter at Wollongong, and tried his hand in the matching of wrestlers as well. He is now living in Timaru, and looking just as fit as when he laid the gloves aside for good.
