A charming wedding was solemnised recently at Trinity Methodist Church, Newtown, of Thelma Grace, only daughter of Mr. G. Whitelaw, and the late Mrs."*E. "Whitelaw, Christchurch, to John Richard, elder son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Atkins, Ilford, England?

Rev. T. W. Vealie officiated and Miss Thawley was at the organ. The church had been prettily decorated with cream and pink chrysanthemums by friends of the bride. The bride, who was escorted by Mr. J. A. Moller, wore a cream fitting frock of embossed crepe satin with cowl neckline, sleeves finished with fine pleating, and silver lame buttons and sash. She wore a French bandeau of the same material finished with a silver bow and carried a shower bouquet of cream and pink flowers and maidenhair fern.

The one bridesmaid, Miss Adeline (Biddy) Hare, wore a shell pink frock and bandeau made on the same lines as the bride's and carried a shower bouquet in deep tonings of pink and maidenhair fern.

Mr. Dick Inch was best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a bound Testament and a lucky horse-shoe. After the ceremony a reception was held at Scott's Tea-rooms, where Mrs. A. E. Hare received the guests, wearing a mulberry tunic frock relieved with cream pleating arid hat to match. With it she wore a shoulder spray of cream roses and carried a brown fox fur.

Later Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Atkins left amid showers of confetti for Auckland, the bride wearing a Marina blue frock with hat to match and a light musquash fur coat and matching accessories.
