OLYMPIC BELL MODEL

The Berlin sculptor, •■■• ■ Walter E. Lemcke, has now 'completed in his atelier the model, from which the Olympic bell will be cast. The bell will ring in the Olympic Games at Berlin in 1936, wherefore it is inscribed: "I call to the youth of the world." ' ' .:';.■■■■■.',

Yet more impressive is the great weight of the bell, estimated at 10 tons, the clapper alone weighing 12cwt. \lt took 2\ tons of clay to form the casting model. The material irom which: it is to be cast is steel, and the work;!.will 'take four to ■ five' months. The bell will then be hung on the leader tower, nearly 243 feet high, on the assembly ground of the Reich Sport Field in direct proximity to the stadium. •
