ALLEGED BURGLARS

ARRESTED AND CHARGED

Charges of breaking and entering the counting-house of New Zealand Fisheries, Ltd., in Wakefield Street, and stealing tobacco, cigarettes, brandy, beer, an attache case, and about £2 19s in cash, of a total value of about £6 0s 6d, were preferred against William Alexander Millar, aged 27, a hawker, and Samuel Jamieson McKee, aged 24, a labourer, in the Magistrate's Court today. The men were arrested yesterday by Detective W. Ritchie and Detective N. J. McPhee.

When Millar and McKee appeared before Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, DetectiveSergeant L. Revell asked for and was granted a remand until next Friday. On the application of Mr. R. Hardie Boys, who appeared for Millar, both men were allowed bail in the sum of £100, with a similar surety, on condition that they report to the detective office at 9 a.m. daily.

In reply to a question from the Magistrate, Detective-Sergeant Revell said that the men were well known to the police.
