'Axr evening wedding of interest to many friends in Petone was solemnised recently, when many, gpests and friends filled St. David's Presbyterian Church to witness the marriage of Alice Winifred, only, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Lund, to William Maxwell Waugh, eldest son of 'Isabella and the late William McKie. The: church was beautifully decorated with flowers, ferns, and autumn foliage.- The ceremony was performed: by Rev. J, C. Loan, and Mr.' Rehnie presided at the organ. . . ' •■■■'■.•■
The bride ' entered "the church with her father, and .wore a charming frock of magnolia tinted parchment satin, cut on simple lines. The- bodice had a draped cowl neckline in front, finished at the back with a'row of buttons. The long skirt fitted to the knees, where it flared to make a short train, the loftg sleeves were puffed to the elbow.. She wore also an uncommon pearl necklace linked with gold bars. The embroidered cream veil (lent by a friend) fell in from a coronet of orange blossorir, and • she carried a shower of cream roses, pink carnations, white heather,, and maidenhair ..finished, off with streamers of cream tulle and ribbon. The two bridesmaids, Misses Thelma Greenfield (chief) and Jessie Barnes, were- frockr ed in cream crepe satin, the 'bodices haying cowl neckline finished at the back, with buttons,... the sliin-fittihg skirts. having hip flares. They wbre coronets of white heather and cream flowers, and carried shower bouquets with trails of maidenhair ferns 'ancl dahlias. Each wore a diamante and pearl necklace and earrings to inatcli, the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr. Robert Mustchiri' was best nian arid Mr. Alwyn'Chambers groomsman.? . : A-reception was held at Lancaster and Yorkshire Hall where the bride's [mother received the.guests wearing a blue rharocaih frock and swagger coat with hat to match. Later the bride [and bridegroom left for a tour, travelling north by car, the bride wearing a black and white .marocain frock; white hat- and 'coat; and. matching accesspries.- ~ '".■..-■■/'' ". ; . !.■
