TOMORROW'S SERVICES

The special thanksgiving service to be held in St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning as part of the celebrations of the King's Silver Jubilee will be attended by the Gov-ernor-General (Lord Galway), his family and suite, the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) and other Judges, Ministers' of the Crown and members of Parliament, the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) and city councillors, military and naval representatives, members of the Wellington Harbour Board, and heads of Government Departments. Copies of the service, which will follow the order of that in St. Paul's Cathedral, London, will be available to all present. The Rt. Rev. the Bishop of Wellington (Dr., Sprott) will preach the sermon. :: The same form of service will be observed wholly or in part at most of the, other city and suburban churches, and special- services will be held in the Catholic Churches. ' At 3 pan. tomorrow a special thanksgiving service will take place at the Synagogue. . HtTTT VALLEY PROGRAMME. Religious services will be held at Lower Hutt tomorrow, at 11 o'clock in the morning in St. James's Church and at' 7 o'clock in the evening in St. Stephen's Church. The Mayor and councillors and representatives of various institutions have received invitations to be present at each of these services.' In addition, members of all local' bodies' and public institutions, and the public generally, are invited to attend a combined religious service arranged by the Mayor to be held in the grandstand on the Recreation Ground at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday. ; In connection with this service a parade will leave the Central School at 2 p.m: Those taking part will be the Lower Hutt Municipal Band, members of the R.S.A., the Ist (Wellington) Regimental Pipes and Drums, the l!7th Battery; C Company, Wellington Regiment, Legion "of Frontiersmen,. High School Cadets, Boys' Brigade, Girl Guides, and Boy Scouts. An opportunity will ■be given at the afternoon service to contribute to the cancer relief research fund. .

On Thursday, pupils of the Hutt Valley High School and Lower' Hutt prjmary schools were entertained at the local theatres, when they witnessed the production of the film "Royal Cavalcade." Yesterday the pupils of the Petone Memorial Technical College and the Petone primary schools were similarly entertained, and'in addition each pupil received a small gift. A special service will be held in St. Alban's Church, Eastbourne, at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Returned soldiers are requested td-.attend.
