OBITUARY
MRS.' VICTOIRE LE LIEVRE

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The death has occurred at Akaroa of Mrs. Victoire Elizabeth, le Lievre, at the age of 83 years. She was a daugh-' ter of Mr. Francois le Lievre, one of the French settlers who 'landed at Akaroa in 1840. Mrs. le'Lievre had a family of eighteen, of whom ten daughters and three sons are still alive. Altogether there are 106 living •descendants.
The duck-shooting season in the Otaki district has been' very successful so far and the lakes have provided good sport, writes" "The 'Post's" Otaki correspondent. Ducks have been fairly plentiful," and in some cases splendid1 "bags" were secured.
