THOSE GOSSIPS, THE TREES. Have !you ever listened through April, days After the birds and the bees Have flown to the, north and the' flowers;-are -gone To the shy little whispers of .trees? The whisper of rain and the coming of fr6s£ In the country, the cities,- and towns. They whisper of jewels they .will, wear in their-hair And of beautiful new winter: gowns. O, they .think we don't know of the,coming of "snow, But the; wind has already! been by; He told us that winter was now on his way And that storm clouds will soon fill the sky.
