WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
An outstanding item on the Ohariu Women's Institute programme for their monthly meeting was an address given by Mrs. Ross, her subject being "Samoa." The speaker ably depicted Samoan life. Mrs. Best, the president,presented Mrs. Ross with a beautiful basket of flowers. The delegates to the southern Wellington conference gave their report on the meeting, Mrs. Randell was chosen as delegate for the Auckland conference to be held in July.,
The competition for the three best gems was won by Mesdames Best and Bryant, and Mesdames Bruce and Randell won the competition for organdie work. .
The hostesses, Mesdames Bruce, Waite, Handell, and Miss Hume, served afternoon tea, and the singing of the National Anthem brought an instructive meeting to a close.
