LADIES' AUXILIARY
- The members of the ladies' auxiliary of the V.M.C.A. met to do honour to Mrs, R. P. Staples, who has found it necessary to relinquish her post as hon. secretary to the auxiliary. The president, Mrs. L. J. Greenberg, spoke in glowing terms of Mrs. Staples's work over a period of years and expressed the regret of all the members on her resignation, while pleasure was felt in the fact that Mrs. Staples would still be a member of the auxiliary. Mrs. H. W. Kersley (life president of the auxiliary) presented the guest of honour with flowers and a crystal bowl as a token of the affection and esteem in which she is held. A. programme of music and elocutionary items was contributed by Mesdames A. Ironside, George Castle, and Millward, followed by afternoon tea.: Miss Eileen Hines was appointed to the position of hon. secretary, and Mrs. F. Plank was welcomed as a new member.
