PRESS OPINIONS

A MEMORABLE VICTORY

United Press Association—By Electric TeleCraph—Copyrlsht. • (Received April 22, .11.30 a.m.)

SYDNEY, This Day.

• Commenting on the Doncaster Handicap the "Herald" says: "Hall Mark displayed remarkable gameness. He was in the centre of the field at the halfmile, but battled on very aggressively. There is no doubt that Hall Mark under his big weight lugged in at the critical stage of the race and twice his jockey had to stop riding him and pull him off High."

The "Herald" adds: "Voitre is a good judge of pace, and is vigorous in a finish."

The "Telegraph" says: "Hall Mark, who is regarded almost solely as a stayer, showed brilliance against firstclass milers that carried him to a memorable victory." !

The "Labor Daily" says: "The owners of Hall Mark were somewhat fortunate in that the stewards dismissed the protest entered on behalf' of the runner-up High. Thirty yards from the post Hall Mark rolled on High and this incident decided the issue in the former's favour. As the stewards censured Voitre for not keeping his mount on a true course it is difficult to understand why the objection was not sustained."
