' A southerly change commenced to advance over tho South Island yesterday afternoon. At the sumo time pressure was falling in the north through the influence of a disturbance in the Tropics. ■ This fall of pressure caused the southerly eliango to move northward with increased rapidity and by 9 a.m. this mornins south-easterly or north-easterly winds prevailed over the whole Dominion. Temperatures have fallen somewhat but the weather has remained fine at most places. A few places in the North Auckland area and in tho extreme south-west reported light to moderate rain.
