CYCLIST PICKED UP
UNCONSCIOUS ON ROADSIDE

MASTERTON, This Day.
A young Masterton man named Timothy O'Dowd, aged about 25 years, was found yesterday morning by a ; passing motorist lying unconscious near his motor-fiycle on the Rimutaka Hill about a mile and a half from Featherston. After being attended to by Dr. G. S. Sharp, of Featherston, the injured man was conveyed to the^Greytown Hospital in the- ambulance. Later he was admitted to the Masterton Hospital suffering from 'head and leg injuries. His condition' is. reported as not serious. , .'. : ' :
| The cause of the accident is not known at present. When he was found by Mr. L. J. Taylor, of Masterton, at about 11.30 a.m. yesterday O'Dowd was lying in. the watertable on the right iSide of the road.. His motor-cycle was ! alongside him, but facing towards Wellington. O'Dowd was on his:way to Masterton. .There were no skid marks on the road, and on regaining '■■ consciousness O'Dowd is'reported to have said in reply to a question that "nothing; hit nie."
