LONDON, January 29.
Tho "Daily, Herald's" special correspondent States that Japan ia making a bid for an air/baso at Siain within striking distance of Singapore, ostensibly for civilian air transport. She hopes to establish a service between Tokio and Bangkok at the beginning of tho autumn, and is using Douglas machines. It is intended that tho torminus in Siain shall bo -it' base for Japanese war operations if rieed arises, and efforts are being made to win Siameso friendship.
