LODGE MEETINGS

DRUIDS.

Excelsior Lodge.—AD. Bro. Porter presided over a large attendance. The lodge was favoured by a visit from the iollowin" executive officers cf Grand Lodge: G P. Bro. Lethaby, J.P.G.P. Bro. Jackson, and G.T. Bro. Mawhinney. D.I. Bro. Taylor (No. 2 district) was also present The bards' report was received, and sick pay and accounts passed for payment. The presentation of a P.A. collar and diploma was made to Bro. W. H. Lepper the presentation being made by Bro. Lethaby, assisted by Bro. Taylor as M C A vote of thanks was accorded the visitors, who suitably replied. After business had been concluded a social evening was held to do honour to Bro. Lepper. The usual toasts were honoured, interspersed with musical items. Bros. Lethaby and Jackson, in responding to tue toast of Grand Lodge, gave some valuable information regarding the financial position of the various funds ot tlie Order. A most enjoyable evening was brought to a close by the singing ot "Auld Lang Syne." Coronation Lodge.-A.D. Bro Cox presided over a good attendance. Bro. Molli-I son reported that Bro.. J. O'Rourke had died recently, and members stood in | silence to pass a motion of condolence to the late brother's relatives. Ihe sick | bard's report was received, and sick pay was passed, with various accounts. The I delegate to the U.F.S. dispensary reported on various matters appertaining to the | welfare of the dispensary. The secretary reported having paid a visit with other I brethren to Paliiatua Lodge to introduce the game of indoor bowls. Official visits to Melrose and Pacific Lodges were also, reported on. Invitations to Grand Lodge I officers and lodges in Nos. 2, 14, and 21 districts to be present were arranged tor the next meetin? of tho lodge, which is to be a social one, and when Bro. U J. | Couper is to be the guest of honour. A i vote of thanks was accorded the visitors, Bro. Abel (Pacific Lodge) and Bro. Drake (Acorn Lodge), who is also secretary ot | Palmerston North R.A.C. 1.0.0.F., N.Z. I Southern Cross Lodge.—Bro. R. Dunne, N.G. presided over a good attendance. The sick visitors reported regarding brothers on the sick list, nnd relative accounts were passed for payment. The invitation of Rose of Wellington Rebekah Lodge to a social was accepted. It was decided to pay an official visit to toa Lodge (Porirua) to play for the '000 shield. One proposal was received for membership, and one .brother Was granted a transfer to Heretaunga Lodge. Bro. (». F. Rudkin, . G.W., conveyed the f ratenal greetings of Bro. Russell, Grand Trustee of New South Wales, who passed through Wellington recently. Maraenui Lodge.—Bro. Binns was \ the presiding officer. Invitations to several special lodge functions were accepted. One new candidate was elected to become a member of the lodge by initiation. Bro. Evans reported on the work of the district picnic committee. Bro. Thompson, of Onslow Lodge, who was formerly a member of Maraenui Lodge, was a visitor, and was accorded a warm welcome. Members of Zealandia Lodge paid an official visit and received the usual welcome.

Rose of Wellington Rebekah Lodge.— Sister E. Collins presided over a fair attendance. One application for membership was received. One sister was reported to be in hospital, and relative sick pay was passed. A handbook committee was appointed to draw up the syllabus for 1935----36. Bro. Valentine, P.G.M., was a visitor and received a hearty welcome. Members and friends indulged in dancing at the close of lodge business. Star of Petone Rebekah Lodge.—Sister Lawrence, N.G., was the presiding officer. The daughter of one sister was reported to be on the sick list. One new member was proposed. Visitors were accorded a welcome. Sister Rout, N.G., of Esther Rebekah Lodge, and Sister Westrup, N.G., of Okiwi-iti Rebekah -Lodge, replied to the official welcome and conveyed greetings. Sister'Kobler conveyed greetings from Sister AVishnosky, of Palmerston North, and Sister Craig conveyed greetings from Sister ' Fincli, also of Palmerston North. Sister Lawrence asked visitors to convey fraternal greetings to their respective lodges. Business concluded, members went into harmony. MANCHESTER UNITY.

Loyal Newtown Lodge.—Bro. S. Reynard, N.G., presided. The sick .visitor. Bro. G. Dumbleton, reported that all members were progressing favourably. A challenge was received from Loyal Kilbirnie Lodge in connection with the Telford Cup contest, the challenge being accepted. Several visitors, including officers of Loyal Britannia Lodge, were warmly welcomed and appreciative responses were made. A committee was appointed to prepare a social programme for the ensuing twelve months and to report at next meeting. Sick pay was authorised, and the meeting adjourned for harmony. Loyal Petone Lodge.—Bro. Andrews presided over a large gathering. Routine business disposed of, the N.G. welcomed visitors and lodge honours were accorded. Sick reports were received.1 At the close members and visitors enjoyed a social hour. Wellington District.—At the last meeting of the management committee, the District Grand. Master expressed his intention of visiting Hutt Valley lodges at the Loyal Rose of Valley Lodge room on February 7, and invited district officers and members of the committee to accompany him. FORESTERS. Court Lady Glasgow.— C.R. Sister E. Purdey presided over a fair attendance. Sick reports were received and accounts passed for payment. The secretary presented the balance-sheet, which was adopted. The following officers were installed by the C.R., assisted by Sister E. Tansey: C.R., Sister J. Kivell; S.C.R., Sister A. Morris; secretary Sister M. E. Hoy; treasurer, Sister A. Tester; S.W., Sister B. Carr; J.W., Sister A. L. 11. Parker; 5.8., Si'ter E. Tansey; minute secretary, Sister H. Lawton; mistress of ceremonies, Sister E. Purdey. The installation of the .T.B. was held over until next meeting. The Court closed with harmony. RECHABITES. Kilbirnle Tent.—Bro. Dixon, C.R., presided over a good attendance. One member was reported sick. The C.R. extended a welcome to members of the Provincial Council, and also to Bro. Davies, D.C.R. After correspondence and reports had been dealt with, the election of officers took place, the following being elected for the ensuim; term:—C.R.," Bro. Bennett; Dep. R., Sister \V. Badger; Levite, Bro. Marple; Guardian, Bro. Lester, jun.; secretary, Bro. Chndbnrn; treasurer, Bro. Fathers; cash steward, Bro. B. G. Johnson; Medical Institute delegate, Bro. F. G. Johnson; general auditor, Bro. H. Johnson; juvenile superintendents, Sisters Johnson and Chadburn and Bro. F, ■G. Johnson; R. and L. supports for C.R., Sister Johnson and Bro. Lester: R. and L. supports for Deputy 1!.. Bros. F. G. Johnson and Hildreth.' After tho election, Bro. Davies, District Chief Ruler, installed the new officers, Bro. C. Jeffery acting as installing Levite. The event of the evening was an address by Sister Johnson, who gave a most interesting nnd instructive talk on her trip to Australia and her experiences and work amongst the representatives at the New South Wales 1.0.R. jubilee celebrations. The address was much appreciated, and she was thanked by the C.R. on behalf of membqfß.
