Tho Minister of Health (the Hon. Sir Alexander Young), who was Minister in attendance to the Duke of Gloucester, will return to Wellington on Monday. Messrs. G. E. Eitchie and C. W. Battray, of Dunedin, directors of tho Union Steam Ship Company, arrived from the south this morning. The Hon. J. Bitehener was a passenger from the south this morning. Mr. W. Lanham, who. recently retired from tho position of official in charge of1 the Mount Victoria signal station, has been visiting1 Wellington, and will leave hero this evening for Auckland where he intends to reside permanently.

Tho1 Hon. Lewis Clifford and Mrs. Clifford, of Melbourne, who are on a holiday visit to the Dominion, have left for North Auckland for deep-sea fishing.

Mr. B.' H. Bartlcy, general manager of, the Auckland Electric-power Board, who is on a tour of England and the -Continent for tho board, is expected to return to Auckland on April 15. Mr. Bartley became ill while in England, but, at a meeting .of the board on Monday it was reported, that ho had recovered and would continue with hi» itinerary. _ Mr! H. P. Hopkins has been appointed by the'Wellington Insurance and Underwriters' Association to represent that organisation on fhe Council of tha Wellington Chamber of Commerce. He took his • seat as a member of tha Chamber of Commerce at last night'i meeting, and was welcomed by the vicepresident, Mr. M. G. C. McCaul. -

Mr. G. Mitchell was yesterday unanimously re-elected chairman of the .Wellington Colleges. Board of Governors.

General Sir Alexander John Godlcy, G.C.8., K.C-M.G. nd Lady Godley, will arrive in Wellington by the Taniahine from Picton tomorrow evening. They will be welcomed on their arrival by members of the executive of the New Zealand Beturned Soldiers' Association and of the Wellington Boturned Soldiers' Association. The Do*. minion president. Major General Sir A. H. Bussell, K.C.M.G., K;C.B., will not bo present as he is attending bis son's wedding in the South Island.
