CANON JAMES'S TRIBUTE.

Canon James said that thero was grief- in many hearts for the loss, of Maurice Denniston. "We have," ho said, "lost a friend whom we were always glad to meet in this warmhearted, generous man, who always seemed to bo happy, because of his large love for his fellow-men, which ■won their love in return. Ho died comparatively young, but life is not to be moasured by length of days but rather by' faithfulness to the motives and ideals which have directed andi governed life:'by 'ditty 'done, and""by'WOTlc Accomplished. It is no exaggeration to doscribe Maurice Denniston as a man remarkablo for the wide rtjngo of his human sympathies. His sympathy did not evaporate iii emotion j he was eager to translate it into action. He threw his whole heart into good causes]; he undertook his full share and more iji good* woiks. Ho never spared himbelt', but persevered to the end in tha,t lo which he'Had put "his.hand. As we follow him. in our prayers into the uiiseen iv*rld into which he has, entered,, we pray, too, that God may comfort the hearts of his nearest and.dearest."
