POSTAL COLLECTION TIMES
At the monthly meeting of the Khandallah Progressive Association ths week the president (Mr. M. S. Gallowny) reported that ho had asked the Chief Postmaster to provide a telephone call box at a more convenient place. At present the facility provided ;t the store was unsatisfactory. Opportunity '\yas also taken to mention the need ot timing postal collection in'the district 1" unable tlmm to connect with the Main Trunk, south, and Nelson boat.s each day. The Chief Postmaster gave his usttiiruuec that the matters raised would received careful attention.
A circular letter was received from Councillor Butler, .suinniiuisiiij; the projected loan proposal drawn up by the City I'.njiineer and approved of by tlie council. Of the £152,000 covcrins; work* summarised on the schedule about £20UU was provided for works in the Khandallali district.
The question of continuing atliliatiun with the Civic League was considered, and it was resolved to hold the mutter over pending1 a decision in regard to I he negotiations which were in progress tf> unify and stabilise the status of such bodies.
It was reported that advice hud been received from' I lie City Council that tinassociation's complaint regarding the dangerous state of Jubilee lioad had been referred to i lie City Engineer.
