REQUESTS DECLINED
PETONE AND LOWER HUTT
The Petone Borough Council had hoped, that the ceremony of unfurling a flag on tho Petone foreshore on the approximate position of the landing of the first settlers would be performed by tlie Duke of Gloucester.
A reply was received from the De partment of Internal Affairs on Monday that the request could not be acceded to.
It is understood that a request from the Lower Hutt Borough Council for v visit by the Duke has also • been refused.
