FEEDING THE BIRDS
"At the back of our house there is a bit of bush, and in an old ; fir treej. there live blackbirds,, sparrows, fantails; linnets, and many, other kinds of birds. every inorning, ,at, schooltime or in'the'holidays I take breadcrumbs or.any titbits out to tha. birdies. At first they waited till I was out of sight, but now they are always there to meet'me at twenty-past eight and feed while lam watching.. A large., number-of birds are constantly dying for want of food.
