TITAHI BAY MAIN HIGHWAY
The Titahi Bay Main Highway from its junction with the Main North Road at Porirua has been classified in class three, and the Main Highways Board is giving notice to this effect in an advertisement today. . . The classification restricts the permissible gross loading on the highway to 6V4 tons in respect of all motor vehicles other than those of an approved multi-axled type, and in the case of these latter vehicles a gross load of 10 tons is allowed. "Gross load" may be defined as the weight of the vehicle plus the weight of the load it is carrying.. Classification signs will be erected on the highway in the near future, and the Main Highways Board has issued a reminder that it is a punishable offence to exceed the loads permitted under the •classification.
