The forecast issued at noon today is for modcrato to strong south-westerly winds in the far south and for easterlies to northerlies elsowhere. Tho latter will be strong or gale forec in tho far north, but elsewhere only light to modorate although freshening. The weather will bo fino at first in most districts, with the exception of the Foveaux Strait aroa whore some Bbowors are likely. But rain will set in over the North Auckland area and will gradually oxtend southward over tho northorn half of the North Island, with some heavy falls in places.' Fairly general rain is probable within the next two or throe days. Tomportitures will be milder.

Christchurch had dull weather on Saturday and at 8 p.m. a moderate south-westerly gale blew up. There was a trace of rain, but clouds subsequently dispersed and there was a frost. Sunday was a fine day with a cold southerly breeze. After .a. frost las* night of nine degrees, this morning's weather was clear with a light northeasterly wind.

Dunedin enjoyed a fine morning on Saturday, bujf a frosh south-westerly wind in tho afternoon brought with it showers and light suow. Yesterday was fair, but rather cloudy and cold with a sputh-westorly breezo. At 9 a.m. to3ay tbo weather was calm' and clear.
