Marist hold the j upper hand throughout and Swifts were i seldom really dangerous. Tins good poai- j tiqnal play of the Marist eleven was the principal factor in their clear-cut success. The teams were:— Marist.—Turkington; Malioney, Duffy; Vaney, Laracy, T. Quirke; Barton, E. Kershaw, Condon, J. Kershaw, Hatcbard. Swifts.—Bradford; Dicksou, McLuno; Bilby, Dainty, C. McGregor; Kelly, P. McGregor, Shankie, Hamill, llawken. Marist initiated the attack. Receiving from a. throw-in, Coudon worked ,close in where Bradford only partially cleared his parting effort, and E. Kershaw, waiting handy, scored an easy goal. Marist were soon on attack again and Condon wormed his way through to tap the ball to E. Kershaw at the right moment. The inside man acepted this chance, and scored well. Once more Condon went through the opposition and transferred to Barton; the latter squared nicely, and this time J. Kershaw left Bradford standing. Swifts replied through Kelly, whose dangerous cross was headed out by Mahoney. A fourth goal fell to Marist after Hatchard had drawn the defence, J. Kershaw's pass forward found Condon on the spot and the rest was easy. Marist led at the interval by 4 goals to 0. Swifts combined better after resumption, and Hawken missed narrowly with a low, cross shot, after good work by Ilarnill and Shankie. A bright movement by the Swifts van broke down on reaching Duffy. Vaney lifted over the backs and Condon beat them to the ball to place his side five up with a well-placed shot. A smart swerve by Hatchard enabled him to send over a fine cross with which E. Kershaw connected, scoring again. Just before time Laracy passed to Condon.' In the ensuing play Hatchard scored. The final score was, Marist 7, Swifts 0. The referee -was Mr.- G. Forbes.
