A GIRL CHAMPION
For the second time.in the 14 years since the annual competition for the W. Stuart Wilson Cup -was inaugurated, the award has been won by a giti. The cup is competed for annually among boys and girls' agricultural clubs. throughout; >New Zealund, and tho< winner is the'boy or girl judged to bo.the "champion farmer." It has been announced by the Department of Agriculture that this year's "champion farmer" is Miss!E. J3cott, Roniahapa School, Otago, who grew a crop o£ turnips yielding 88 tons Bcwt an acre. Special mention was made of the performance of Master Graham Cakhyell, aged 12, of Wayea, North Taranaki, who grew in poor soil a; crop of carrots yielding: 68% tons ah acre. , .
