CYNICAL KID'S SUCCESS
Cynical Kid, whose excellent recent work at Hawera caused him to be made a solid favourite for the-Trial Hunters' Steeplechase at New Plymouth last Thursday, had little trouble in downing his-opposition in the race, and he may yet go on to better deeds in the jumping arena. The race was the first in which he had appeared before the public
Cynical Kid is owned by the keen hunting enthusiast, Mr. C. H. Washer, of Hawera, who is also judge for the Stratford Racing Club. He is a six-year-old bay gelding by Cynic from the Guianforte ma,re Kidnapper, who does not appear to have been raced, but whose half-brothers Asleep and Awake were both useful.jumpers. Kidnapper had an earlier offspring in Gasnapper, who won races a few years back but .did not perform1, on the whole as wellashe promised on track efforts.'.
