The final work of the Hawera horses engaged at the Combined Hunt Clubs 5 Meeting at New Plymouth was performed yesterday under ideal conditions. The outside of the course proper was again available, and, though slow, afforded good galloping ground. Diagano was- not out for time, and registered lnrin 27see for a working gallop over six furlongs. Starting from the six furlongs post, Carr'ex and Aga Khan occupied ISsec for the first furlong and 4.2Jsee for the first three.. This pace was evenly maintained to the finish, the pair finishing together in Imin 25see, neither horse being kicked, out. ■ Green Linnet secured an advantage over Sandlark at the jump-off from, the half-milp and managed to maintain. a rteck advantage at the finish in 55soe. St. Clara and Eichfiold wero companions over five furlongs, Eichfield finishing a. couple of lengths in front in Imin 10 sec. . • '■•..■.• - ■■ •
Silfe Sox finished several lengths in front of March Alone over six furlongs covered in Imin 27sec. Silk Sox was going very comfortably. Arouse and Autumn Leaf went a couple of furlongs from the barrier in. 27sec.
Friesland ana Gold Gleam finished well in front of Bose Bay in a halfmile from the barrier in 56Jsec.
Flower Bag impressed in a mile and a quarter working gallop with Ashes. Harvest' Moon and Beau Star 'gave a smart display over five of the schooling hurdles, both jumping quickly. Cynical Kid and Kaola took the double brush in- front of the stand smartly, and; continuing on,.jumped the brush and post-and-rair fences cleanly. At the sort wall'Kaola slipped, into-the obstacle and fell. Cynical Kid clearod it nicely, and made splendid jumps over "the heucoop and remaining double. Gilmer remounted Kaola and he negotiated the fences this time safely.
