AMATEUR BOXING TITLES.
Record entries have been received by the Wellington Boxing Association for the 1934 senior amateur championships, which are to be decided in the Town Hall _on Monday and Tnesday nights, and, in view of the splendid displays given by the juniors early this month, a high standard of boxing should be maintained. In addition to the natural will- to win, amateur boxers have a special incentive to perform at their best this season. • Not only will there be a trip to Hastings for the local title-winners to compete in the New Zealand championships, but also those who succeed against the entrants from other parts of the Dominion will have the'opportunity of a visit to Invercargii) to compete in the Test, match, against the Australian amateurs. For the Wellington men there will also be a match' against the Australians here. Amateur bouts at any time nre marked by the willingness of the participants and there will •be few dull moments during this year's tourney. Further particulars are advertised in this issue. '
