Successful Afternoon Party. Mrs. Weston Hargraves, Gienniore Street, ga.vo an afternoon party in aid of tho Eesidential Nursery, Owen Street, which proved a great success, thirty ladies being present. Mcsdames Waiuwi-ight, Lewis, and Coombor, Misses Myra Sawyer and Sybil Maeindoe all gavo itoms, which wore greatly enjoyed. Mrs. Williams won an amusing competition, and Miss Bryant won a box of home-made sweots, donated by Miss McDonald. Afternoon tea ended a most pleasant afternoon, Shandon Golf Club Evening. Mr. and Mrs. E. Banish, Freyberg Streot, Lyall Bay, wore host and hostess at a pleasant little danco evening recently, in aid of tho Shandon Golf House Fund. Dancing, billiards, and bridge wero indulged in by an excellent attendance of club members and their friends. Mr. C. H. Andrews (club president) expressed appreciation of the splendid arrangements made by the host and hostess and the committee, which had resulted in such a successful and cnjoyablo evening. The Next "Repertory." In these days of special interest in women (who are always "news" at this time) many will be glad to hear that the next Eepertory play will be Benn W. Levy's "This Woman Business," which sounds as if it might be ever so interesting. As usual costuming will bo a specialty, and a very pleasant evening may.be expected. Nursing Division Meet. A very onjoyablo time was spent last night when tho Wellington South Nursing Division of the St. John Ambiilanco mot at the ambulance hall, Vivian Street. The programmo comprised sketches, musical items, and competitions. Those who took part were Miss Peggy Smyth (dance), Miss Marjorie. Lee (song), Miss Quirk (song), and Misses Eita McCarthy, Chamberlain, Black, Irene Paul, Clewer,! and Mrs. Gaunt, who presented two playlets.
