PETONE CLUB'S REPORT
The fine performances recorded by the club's senior and junior A teams in last season's competitions under the jurisdiction of the Wellington Cricket Association are a subject of, special reference in the Petone Cricket Club's annual report. The senior team, under the captaincy of W. S. Briee, finished in third place in the championship. The batting, with Bricc and M. F. Nicholls first and second in tho averages, was remarkably oven throughout the season. The only century scorer, however, was C. F. W. Allcott, who headed a fin© list of bowling performances, for which the team owed a good deal of its success. The club, after having a debit balance at the end of the previous season, is commended on being able to show a credit balance. Appreciation is oxpressed of the efforts in various directions towards making the-season a successful one. In dealing with tho assistance and co-operation of members, the committee expresses tho hope that the coming season may see renewed efforts on the part of all in the interests of tho club and cricket in general. ■
