SOUTH AFRICA'S £100 TAX
The .'JIOO tax on horses imported into South Africa was discussed at a conference representing all the racing interests of the Union at Durban last mouth, but the outcome of the discussion was a decision to proceed no further wita the endeavour to have the tax withdrawn.
The resolutions carried by the conference for submission to the Jockey Club included however, the following: "That the 101b penalty on the weieht-for-aee scale be eliminated against imported horses"; and "That the classics be open to imported horses as well as colonial."
