during the night there was quitjp a heavy fall of snow on tho high country. This morning there was a whitn coatingl on Jcnkin's Hill and Tho Fringe, while the Mauugatapu was covered halfway down. Tho wostern ranges also presented a picturesque sight. The countryside, is looking .very green, with plenty of growth for this time of the year, but the broken weather and the wet sta-to of the soil is making it difficult for farmers to carry out seasonable work.
