Several of the horses engaged in the Cashmere Plate at the C.J.C. Meeting next Tuesday, have not clone much racing, and although one or two of these are bred along fairly promising lines it is unlikely that any ot them will have any serious say in the decision.

Arrow Win is a five-year-old bay mare by Arrowsmith from a Gay Lad—Furling mare, and she does not appear to have raced previously. She was bred by F. Holmes, and is now owned by Mr. A. Thomson, whose colours have been carried by Hunting Call and Arrowmaid.

General O'Duify, another who will be making his debut, is a four-year-old black gelding by Arrowsrnith from the Tractor mare Kate Kelly, and he will run in the interests of his breeder, Mr. W.- T. Hazlett. Kate Kelly is a granddaughter o£ Sprig of' Erin, the dam of father. O'Flynn.

Hunting Go, who had a race recently at the South Canterbury Hunt, is a six-year-old chestnut gelding by Hunting Song from the Finland mare The Hook, and he is owned by Mr. D. Grant, of Timaru. Hostile, who raced at Ashburton in June and at la^t week's meeting, is a four-year-old browiv gelding by JS'ight Raid from thcMarkhope mare Nope, and he is held on lease by the Riccarton trainer A. MoAu lay. , ■'

Kevino, who has had one previous race at Gveymouth iii June, is n aevcu-ycav-old bay gelding by Solferino from Flying Past, and he is owned by Mr. A. Kyle, of Greymouth, who also races Marmoratiou. Wiuo,' who m.'ido his debut hiat week, is a four-year-old bay gelding by Cockpit from the Kilbroney mare Inoe, and lie carries the colours of Me-ji's. G. K. Hunter and P. C. Webb, the owners of Merry Peel, etc. <

Silver Foil, who has had a coupls of previous starts, including one last week, i"s a five-year-old bay gelding by Silverado from the Masterpiece mare Prue, au'd he-is owned by Mr. K. Hay, who races Uounslow, etc, Silver Steu, who also has raced twice to date, is a Tour-year-old son of Silverado and the Solt'crino mare Wartono (dam as well of War Knight) and he runs in the interests of his breeder, Mr. B. G. Dalgety. Among the three-year-olds the only one who does not appear to have raced is Emissary. This is a. three-year-old brown colt by Legionnaire from the Kilbroney mare Lahinch, the dam also of the Tasmanian,Derby and Guineas winner Highbroney.! He was due of the offering of Mr. P. Miller's Kia Orn Stud at last year's Sydney sales, and he was bought by the late W. J. Tomkinsou for 120 guineas, as agent' for the Christchurch solicitor', Mr. W. A. White. Another three-year-old who has not raced is Roua Bay,'whose breeding is referred to elsewhere on this page. Dollar Bill is the Opaki trainer B. Burgess's black gelding by Paper Money from tile Paladin mare Zarisee, and he has had a couple of recent races, going promisingly at Awapuni. Impossible, who raced at last week's' meeting at Riccnrton, is a three-year-old brown filly by Shambles from the Kilbroney unare Kilada (a half-sister to Red Wink and Ida Merling). and she will carry the colours-of Mr. B. F. Spiers, who also races Importance.
