MOSGIEL TRAINER'S DEATH
The death is reported from Mosgiel ot R I! McDonald, a well-known Otago trainer, at the age of sixty-one. He had been iv ill health for some time past and he. went into hospital recently ior a scijious operation. While he travelled further afield on occasions, most of the late Mr. McDonald's racing was done in Otago .and Southland. Home useful horses passed through his hands, many of them racing in. his own colours. Compensation was, a very smart galloper with whom he won the Dunedin Champagne Stakes.
