BOMB FOR AUTHOR
A bomb addressed to tho president of the French Society of Authors and Composers exploded in a post office, in the Rue.'Bleu-in Paris. Tho package was supposed to be a rolled newspaper, but a postal employee grew suspicious because of its weight, and decided^ to open it. No sooner had the stringbeen cut than there was a loud explosion. Tho man was knocked to the floor with injuries to both hands and to his left eye.. Ho was sent, to hospital, and was in danger of losing the sight of tho eye. ■ The police attach importance to tho affair because of a letter.attached;-in which the senders of the parcel declared that they intended to strike at all French people, without regard to sex, age, or rank, until it had been shown that punishment will bo meted out just as. severely to those who committed robbery on a lavga scale as it was to petty pickpockets. The fact that the first attack was directed against the president of the Society of Authors puzzles the police, because there is no apparent reason why ho should have been singled out. ,
