CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS

DRAW FOR FINALS

The final games of the North Island badminton championships will take place in tho Winter Show Buildings this evsaing, commencing at 7.30 p.m. This aftcrnoos matches in the B and C grades and the handicap section are being played, and it is hoped that the touraument will be concluded tonight. At tho c-loso of last evening's games twenty-two championship matches remained to be played, while 108 matches were to be completed in tho handicap

sections. ■ . Mr. A. H. Rkhards, who has been in charge of operations, has kept the tournament working very smoothly, and has earned well-merited commendation for the efficiency, with which ho has organised the play. . After the championship events set down to take placo this evening, it is expected that the presentation of trophies will be made about 10 o'clock. In addition to the usual cups presonted to winners of the North Island championships, a cup lias been presented by Mr. J. F. Bristed for presentation to tho men's singles champion. Tho cup is to be competed for annually, and will be awarded for the first time this evening. The draw ffiv the principal •ovoata this evening is as follows:— '■Men's Championship Doubles (to commence at 7.30 p.m. sharp).—N. HullBrown and J. Vanghnn v. H. P. Reid and E. A. Roussell.

Ladies' . Champio.nship Doubles.— Misses C. Phillips and J. Bounfitt .v. Misses N. Morgan and M. Ryan. Men's Singles Championship.—J. Vaughan v. 11. D. Reid. ' Ladies' Singles Championship.—-Miss N. Morgan v. Miss J. Trcloar. : Mixed Championship Doubles.— 3. Vaughan and Miss C. Phillips v. E. A. Roussell and Miss M; East.

These games will take place on the main court in the above order. Other matches will take place simultaneously on tho four other courts at the Winter Show buildings.
