ADULTERATED FOOD
REVELATIONS IN BRITAIN
LONDON, August 9.
Extraordinary details of food adul>.ration are given in the annual report of the Ministry of Health, which says that 31,000 samples of miscellaneous foods wore analysed during the year. The resultant discovorioa included yeasfc containing arsenic; cider, dried pears, and canned boanf con'n'ning copper; chicken and ham pasto containing load; spiced beef and tongue containing tin; and "concentrated liuiejuico" which consisted of a flavoured solution of ■ citric acid with glycerine, while some- soda-water entirely lacked sodium bicarbonate.
