BERLIN, August 9.
Herr Hitler, following the precedent at tho inauguration of Presidents, has proclaimed an amnesty for many men and women serving less than six mouths for criminal or political offences, excluding those imprisoned during the Nazi purge on June 30. The Governmont has also issued an amnesty to persons guilty of slandering Hitler, provided the crime was committed before President Hindonburg's 'death.
The amnesty does not apply to those guilty of treason or attompted murder. What is desci-ibed as a geinerous ihV vestigation of suspects now in concentration camps is being conducted with a view to the liberation of tho less serious offenders.
