The Nelson Harbour Board decided to support the. action of the. Auckland Harbour Board in opposing the Har bours Amendment Bill. Members agreed that the Bill should not nave the effect of abrogating the boards' control and rights to revenue from tho wharves except in the case of war or national emergency.
The following members of tho Nelson St. John Ambulance Brigade were sue ccsaful in the recent examinations conducted by Dr. Orawshaw, who congratu lated all entrants on the high standard of efficiency attained: —First aid certificates: Mrs. G. B Wilrnot, Misses J. Sherwood, R. D. Holmes, L. tienyon, W. Coxhill, M. Hurst, Messrs. E. Anderson, W. Lake, J. Wearing, I. Newport, L. Bowden, and'M. Pahl. Preliminary first aid certificates were gained by the fol lowiug: L. Richardton M. O'Donnell, E Johnstone, J. Marcom. R. Weir. P. Lumber. Miss W, Shanks passed her examination for a medallion. In an examination held last month in home nursing, the following gained their cer tificates: A E. Eyles, L. Sherwood, P Varley,. S.'Cr Drfvis. jun ; . and E. Pearce.
