(Special to the " Evening Post.")
NELSON, August 9.
.' Writing from England to tho Nelson Harbour Board in connection with the board's negotiations for the purchase of a dredge from an English firm, Mr !C. T. Price, a member of the board, concluded his letter as follows: —"I have no hesitation in advancing the opinion that tho board should order the dredge at once, as. our fruit is going steadily ahead In the English markets. The expressed opinion here is that our Cox Orange apples are un . beatablo, and I am sure that the fruit ['growers can look forward to better things." The chairman of the board (Mr. A. Gould) said that when a man of Mr. ■■ Price's calibre, the member being well known for his cautious and rather pessimistic outlook, expressed an opin ion of that description, it should put a little, .he.ar.t^into .the fruit growers of tho'/mstnet. ~\:" .-■}'r'"i-~- " '"■"■*"■ :■'■'-■
